Another month, and another bunch of nominations for La Jupe! This month saw the ceremony for The Annual Glasgow Bar Awards, hosted by Backs Hospitality (a non profit organisation that provides development and support for bartenders). We were nominated for a ton of categories including Best Cocktail and Best Bar Team (thank you all who voted for us). We ended up making the top 4 for Best Bar Team, and in addition oor Aimee took FIRST PLACE for Best Shake (basically best cocktail bartender)!! The win came after proving herself in 2 live challenges (time to make a cocktail, and her technique), as well as blowing everyone away for her creativity challenge...The woman, the myth that she is, she made a whisky sour whilst pole dancing...mic drop! The judges were rightly dumbfounded!! 2 years in a row Aimee has brought a win home for the bar. Can she make it 3?! Suffice to say we are incredibly proud of our girl, she's absolutely killing it and we couldn't be happier to have her as a core part of La Jupe. And if you needed any more proof we are THE bar in town for cocktails...well, there you go!
As well as winning awards, the team got to catch up with good friends in the industry of course! Our fave Wine Sales dude Stewart from Alexander Wines made top 5 for best rep, and truly deserves to go far. In addition we were there to clap on and congratulate all our pals across the Glasgow bar scene for their wins. We have some of the best bars on the planet in this neck of the woods, and we should all be very proud of that.
